GrafanaCON 2024!

A little bit late to the party, but beginning of April I was lucky enough to attend GrafanaCON 2024, in Amsterdam! (9-10 April 2024). It was an event full of great experiences and a huge agenda around all things Grafana, and especially Grafana 11! I couldn’t be more happy to meet new people, discuss about issues they have when monitoring their products and be able to help people finding suitable solutions based on their needs. Almos 450 attended the event, people from many different companies and cultures, people who were highly skilled and a few people with whom we spent some time over beers and good food!

The venue

The venue was actually a concert hall named Muziekgebouw. It was a great place with nice views and pretty close to the city centre. Lot’s of great rooms, excelent facilities and even though we were those many people, the place looked empty still! It’s just HUGE! We had plenty of time to spend with each other playing games - 3-way ping pong is something I hadn’t played before and it was definitely more fun than I expected.

Amsterdam!

Rainy Amsterdam is rainy! Apart from some few glimpses of sun, it was mostly windy and rainy! But this didn’t prevent us from going out and having fun with each other. Amsterdam is always a good idea!

It was my second time in Amsterdam - this time didn’t have much time to walk around the city since we were busy with the conference. However, even a small walk around the beautiful canals it’s worth the whole trip! And the waffles, oh the waffles!

Was I there as an attendee?

Nope! As always, CI/CD Observability got huge attention and it got to be the most voted topic for the Unconference! Unconference is basically a parallel conference where people propose ideas and these ideas gets some votes. The mosted voted ideas get some time on stage!

…and a more artistic one! grafanacon-2024

After we did the unconference session, we got into a room with people to answer to questions they had (when I saw we, I of course mean me and Giordano Ricci, as mentioned in a few previous posts!). The attendance was phenomenal, didn’t have a single chair empty and what is even more exciting is that it one of the last talks of the day, where more than half of the attendees had already left! Couldn’t be prouder for what we achieved there. We also made connections with people and brought them on board with the whole CI/CD Observability working group! I would be more than happy to work with all of these lovely people in the future!
